All descendents of Michael and Theresa (Baumgartner) Bittner are invited to attend the reunion. We have attempted to contact all living descendents in the United States and Canada. If you are a family member or you know a family member who does not yet know about the reunion, please contact us for more information. Please help us spread the word about the reunion to all family members! All are welcome to attend any or all of the reunion events.
Michael and Theresa Bittner came to the United States from Germany in 1874 and settled in Minden, Iowa, in 1875. In 1885, they moved to Adrian, Nobles County, Minnesota. They had twelve children: Francis, Anna, Elizabeth, Theresa, Wenzel, Mary, Joseph, Franziska, Johan, Henry, Katherine, and Josephine.
Of the twelve branches of Michael and Theresa Bittner's descendents, eight survive today. These descendents have the following surnames: Anderson, Avila, Barsi, Bartsch, Beadle, Berger, Bilbrey, Bittner, Brack, Claiborn, Glahn, Harrigan, Harrison, Haubrich, Hayes, Hiel, Hoffman, Hoppe, Johnson, Johnston, Kari, Kaufenberg, Kaufmann, King, Krahnke, Kurk, Landwehr, Larmore, Lentsch, Lockhart, Loeffler, Luna, Matock, McAlpin, McCaul, McClung, McGowan, McIntire, McKasy, Meyer, Mitchell, Mohs, Moore, Neiswenter, Owens, Peterson, Quinlivan, Reinhardt, Rittaler, Roberts, Rubenzer, Russett, Sander, Schiffer, Scurich, Spahn, Stavrindes, Stevenson, Sutliff, Svoboda, Swanson, Swilley, Thompson, Tocko, Trudeau, Vann, Vincent, Watson, Wellicome, Wilkin, Wisbey. (The Bittner name survives in four branches.)

The group camp area is located on the St. Croix River, close to the canoe landing and picnic grounds. The All-Day Family Picnic on Saturday will be held in the middle of the group camp area. The group camp area includes pit toilets, water, and fire rings. Showers are available in the main campground. Registration: If you want to camp in the group camp area (sorry, tents only), you can register to do so on your reunion registration form included in the Summer 2002 Legacies. The camping fee is $2 per person, per night. Park Permits: Interstate State Park requires an additional daily permit ($4) or an annual State Park permit on all vehicles. Purchase daily or annual permits at the park office. |
